Turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory that has been used for centuries in traditional medicine to combat arthritis and joint pain. Not only is it amazing for your joints, but it also tastes great when blended with fresh (or frozen) berries.
Making this smoothie is also incredibly easy and can be customised to suit your individual taste. Whether you’re dealing with chronic joint pain or just want a healthy smoothie that tastes amazing, then this is perfect for you!
Ingredients:
1 cup frozen or fresh berries (such as strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries)
A small handful of nuts (Brazil nuts, Pecans, Walnuts or Almonds all work great)
1 banana
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 shot of berry-flavoured bio-fermented turmeric
Instructions:
1) Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
2) Adjust the consistency by adding more almond milk if it is too thick, or adding more berries if it is too thin.
3) Taste and adjust sweetness if needed, adding honey if desired.
4) Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy immediately.
Optional additions:
1/4 to 1/3 of a teaspoon of Cacao powder.
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed or chia seeds for added fibre and omega-3 fatty acids
Omega 3 fish oil
1/2 cup spinach or kale for added nutrients and a more green colour (note that this will change the flavour slightly)
